Buddy Jewell was born in Lepanto, Arkansas and was the first winner on the USA Network talent show Nashville Star. Signed to the Columbia Records imprint of Sony in 2003. his first two singles, "Help Pour out the Rain (Lacey's Song)" -the highest debuting single in over a decade- and "Sweet Southern Comfort," both reached number 3 on the Billboard charts. The self titled first album had its debut at #1 certified gold, for selling
more units
than any country debut since LeAnn Rime's Blue in 1996. (52,000 its first week.) The second disc "Times Like These," followed in 2005 reaching #5 on the album charts. It's first single, "If She Were Any Other Woman," reached #27 on the Billboard charts.

It was the #1 video for the entire month of April on Great American Country (GAC) in 2005 and was even featured on the ABC Network soap, General Hospital.


In Canada the first album reached #1 on the Billboard country charts in 2003 remaining active for 64 weeks and climbed to #13 on the Billboard 200.
The first single "Help Pour out the Rain (Lacey's Song)" made it to #3 on the country charts and reached #29 on the Hot 100 Survey. The next single "Sweet Southern Comfort also reached #3 in 2004.The second album, Times Like These, made it to # 5 in May 2005.

has been on the Chart Country Top 40 Survey for 4 months (
thru atleast Sept 1.)
It stayed at #1 for two weeks
and is still in the top 10. A total of 17 weeks.

Buddy was a part of the historic City of Dreams-Artists For Tennessee Flood Relief, video project produced in May 2010 and appeared on the ABC Family Network's 700 Club on July.23.
