Buddy Jewell has truly become an international performer. In the last two years he's
played at Country Gold / International Country Music Festival in Kumamoto Japan,
and at the Shenzhen (China) Concert Hall. with Julie Roberts and Clinton
Gregory. He headlined a Christmas, show in Fiere Di Pordenone Italy. did three
shows in Germany. including, Country Messe in Berlin with Billy Yates and Savannah. and In July 2012, played in Bauska Latvia, at the Bauska Country Music Festival |
Buddy Jewell was born in Lepanto Arkansas but actually raised in Osceola Arkansas. He was the first winner on the USA Network talent show Nashville Star. Signed to the Columbia Records imprint of Sony in 2003. his first two singles, "Help Pour out the Rain (Lacey's Song)" -the highest debuting single in over a decade- and "Sweet Southern Comfort," both reached number 3 on the Billboard charts. The self titled first album had its debut at #1 certified gold, for selling more units than any country debut since LeAnn Rime's "Blue" in 1996. (52,000 its first week.) The second disc "Times Like These," followed in 2005 reaching #5 on the album charts. It's first single, "If She Were Any Other Woman," reached #27 on the Billboard charts. (Billboard) "If She Were Any Other Woman," was the #1 video for the entire month of April on Great American Country (GAC) in 2005 and has been featured on the ABC Network soap, General Hospital. In Canada the first album reached #1 on the Billboard country charts in 2003 remaining active for 64 weeks (thru much of 2004) and climbed to #13 on the Billboard Hot 200 (Pop Chart.) The first single "Help Pour out the Rain (Lacey's Song)" made it to #3 on the country charts and reached #29 on the Hot 100 Survey. The next single "Sweet Southern Comfort also reached #3 in 2004.The second album, Times Like These, which included, the third hit, "If She Were Any Other Woman," made it to # 5 in May 2005. (Billboard) "Help Pour out the Rain (Lacey's Song)" even made the Billboard chart in The United Kingdom and France. "Somebody Who Would Die For You." the first single from, I SURRENER ALL had a major effect on Christian radio listeners and music buyers nationwide. The song reached #1 on the Christian radio charts in April 2010, and earned Jewell the distinguished titles of Crossover Artist of the Year, and "Entertainer of the Year," at the 55th International Country Gospel Awards. The song also climbed to the top of the Independent contemporary country charts based exclusively on fan voting. (chart country & Power Source.) Buddy was a part of the historic City of Dreams-Artists For Tennessee Flood Relief, video project, appeared on the ABC Family Network's 700 CLUB on July.23 and in May 2011, was interviewed on the TV show, INSIDE MUSIC ROW. |
